Anna Barber, Executive Coach: Frequently Asked Questions https://annabarber.com Q: Who do you coach? A: Founders, investors and senior leaders facing decisions that don't have clean answers. Most of my clients are startup founders and CEOs, venture capitalists, and executives in a career transition. Q: What makes your coaching different? A: I've sat in the seats my clients sit in. I've been a founder and CEO, an operator, a venture investor who backed 100+ companies, and a board member. I bring that experience in when it's useful, without judgment, and I leave the decision with you. Q: What kinds of founder decisions do you help with? A: Raising money or not, selling or winding down, stepping into or out of the CEO role, co-founder and board dynamics, and growing into the leader the company needs next. Q: Do you coach venture capitalists? A: Yes. I spent a decade investing at M13, Techstars LA and Everywhere Ventures, so I know the job from the inside. I work with investors on partnership dynamics, career moves, and the pressure of the role. Q: Do you coach people in career transition? A: Yes. I work 1:1 with leaders deciding what's next, and I run Meridian, a six-month program for senior women making career pivots. Q: What is Meridian? A: Meridian is a six-month coaching program for a small group of senior women making career pivots. More at https://annabarber.com/meridian Q: What is your coaching approach? A: Care personally, challenge directly. I hold strong opinions loosely, help you separate what you control from what you don't, and treat emotion as real data in hard decisions. Q: What are your credentials? A: Hudson Institute-certified executive coach since 2017. BA and JD from Yale. Former corporate lawyer and McKinsey consultant. Forbes 50 Over 50. Q: Are you still investing? A: No. I'm a full-time executive coach and board member. I was previously a Partner at M13, Managing Director of Techstars LA, and a Venture Partner at Everywhere Ventures. Q: Which boards do you serve on? A: Maven AGI, Max Retail, Source, Replenysh and Upwards, plus the advisory board of the Roberts Innovation Fund at Yale. Q: Where are you based? Do you coach remotely? A: I'm based in New York City and coach clients anywhere by video. Q: How does an engagement work? A: Coaching engagements are typically a minimum of six months, and we meet at least twice a month. Q: How much does coaching cost? A: Pricing is available on request. Email me at ab@annabarber.com. Q: Do you work with teams or groups? A: Yes. Along with 1:1 coaching, I run peer coaching groups and work with leadership teams. Q: How do I get started? A: Email me at ab@annabarber.com with a few lines about where you are and what you're deciding.
